You might be surprised at how you could help HHN families.

Having a recently bereaved child or a child with a life threatening/life limiting illness, these families live with extremely difficult circumstances everyday and may otherwise miss out on this special opportunity.  For some, it is their last chance to spend quality time together. For others, the experience brings them renewed energy to face the challenges ahead.

Read our Holiday Stories to see the real difference we can make by all working together. Your generosity makes all of this possible.

Some of the ways you can help:

Do you own a bach or hotel and have times during the year when your bach/hotel goes unused? The use of your bach/hotel for as little as one day will provide the perfect base for a special holiday for families who couldn’t otherwise afford such an experience.

Families will need all forms of transport both to get them to/from their holiday destination and to get them around whilst they enjoy their stay. This is likely to include buses, trains, rental cars and ferries to name just a few.

We want families’ concerns to be kept to a minimum so their thoughts are focused solely on themselves. So, as a minimum we aim to have all the essentials waiting for them on their arrival – such as milk, tea, coffee, bread and other such items.

The difference between a good holiday and a sensational one can sometimes come down to those special little things families might never have dreamed of experiencing. Whether it be lunch/dinner vouchers, spa treatments, or entry to local attractions, these are bound to leave lasting memories for families who seldomly have the opportunity to treat themselves.

We rely 100% on volunteers. Key volunteer activities including referring families to us, preparing the accommodation for the stay, responding to needs during the family’s stay, and then closing down/tidying up afterwards. Other volunteer activities are to maintain our website, answer queries, liaise with current and potential Helpers, arrange/tailor holidays to families’ needs, assist with fundraising, and to administer the charity structure itself. We of course however welcome any assistance you can give us.

So if you think you may be able to offer any assistance, no matter how big or small, please contact us now.
